I have a windows vista business, microsoft office 2007, 2GB RAM, 160 GB HDD on my laptop. Everytime I try to install a new software it took sooo long as almost it does’nt stop processing. What’s the problem with my computer, how to avoid this problem and how to fix it?
THE PROBLEMS
Your PC just does not run as efficiently as it used to be any more.
Computer users always encounter many problems such as the above from time to time. Then, do you really know why these PC problems happen?
The Windows registry stores information about a computer’s configuration like a database repository. Installing and uninstalling software will make your registry a mess, leading to decreased PC performance and causing computer crashes.
The registry size keeps growing when you use Windows. When the registry becomes very large, your computer’s performance will be decayed and unstable. Some computer users even spend a lot of time trying to go through the registry and edit it manually. Not only can this be a daunting task, it is also a risky one.

That’s just Vista for you. Happened to me as well. Same with file transfers.

Usage of Vista Ultimate
Leave it running overnight or run virus/malware scans with Avast! or AdAware. leave the installers for Avast! or AdAware running overnight. Then virus scan overnight. Hope you have a lot of nights! LOL

you didn’t state the speed of your computer and how much hard disk space you have. If you are running vista or 7, the system is spending enormous amounts of time swapping to disk.
OR, you have spyware. clean up the machine. windows-logo-flag-key+R mrt Enter. do a full scan.
if EVERYTHING has always run slow, you have
- a slow processor problem (get a computer with a 3GHz or better processor with dual or preferably quad core)
- a low memory problem (max out your machine with memory: 4GB for 32-bit OS, only limit is mother board for 64-bit OS)
