…improve your bottom line?
Maybe another business downstairs, or a new section in your own business? But it can’t decrease productivity, or the bottom line falters. Any thoughts?
I found that…
Employee input makes workers into ‘team players’.
Brainstorming at meetings gives the employees an ‘open forum’ to voice their suggestions.
Performance Bonuses gave them the incentive to ‘go the extra mile’. It could be cash..or…the top producer gets one Friday off each month with pay.
If you’re considering expanding…make it a business that will ‘compliment’ the one you already have.
If you were to have a hair salon upstairs…then a nail salon and botique downstairs would compliment the business and not compete…generating more income.
If we knew what kind of business you’re running, it would be easier to zone in on some other ideas.
These suggestions were what worked in my ’sales oriented’ businesses…Hope that helps, Helen <:O)

Out of these options which program of study in university should I choose and why? Highly appreciated for any help please and thank you.
If this is for an undergrad degree in the US I would narrow the list to Accounting, Finance or HR Management. Then from there, you would have to choose what’s best for you.
Business Research – how much work is there really in this field?
Management – should really be a graduate degree – chances are you will not land a management job right out of undergrad.
Marketing – should be a part of your business program, but no the whole major. Most marketing majors I know end up in sales or something completely unrelated – there’s just not enough "marketing" positions for the number of people who want them.
Accounting – there is always work for accountants, most make good money.
Finance – a lot of money and a lot of positions.
HR management – every company needs HR – always work and decent pay.

Have you ever noticed that some business owners continually complain about how bad their industry is?
Or how bad their customers are?
Or how bad their suppliers are, or how bad their staff is?
Yet in the same industry and in the same area there’s’ probably a switched on business owner that is absolutely creaming it.
I find this all the time.
Switched on business owners have the same conditions yet they just seem to be able to make it work.
Why can they make it work?
And how can you do the same?
I have found that the best business owners focus on their business. And they focus on the things that they can control.
If there’s something happening around them, or in their industry that they can’t control they don’t let it get to them.
They just adapt their business so that they can survive and prosper.
So what are they doing?
They are controlling their business.
Let me explain.
The media tends to talk about a handful of successful business people and the word ‘ruthless’ is often used.
For some business owners, they truly are ruthless. That’s their way.
I am not ruthless. And I don’t promote being ruthless.
However I am fussy and if I don’t like something I won’t do it, I won’t tolerate it and I’ll move to change it. Immediately.
You see I have found that very successful business owners have a low tolerance to pain.
Where as mediocre business owners have an extraordinarily high tolerance to pain.
Let me clarify this for you.
Mediocre business owners will put up with problem suppliers, problem staff, and problem customers.
The top business owners will not.
Top business owners will seek to improve the situation immediately.
Mediocre business owners tolerate poor performance. They will whine and complain about it yet they won’t do what it takes to improve or eliminate it.
The top business owners don’t tolerate poor performance. And everyone that works with them knows it.
The top business owners set the ‘rules’ of conduct for everyone that wants to work with them. Everyone is clear about where the boundaries are, what they can expect, what’s expected from them and what the consequences are if they don’t perform.
That’s how you run a business.
By setting the rules that everyone agrees to, and having known consequences for poor performance – everyone knows where they stand.
By doing that they get great productivity from their people, suppliers, and customers.
On my 1-on-1 Business Coaching Program I take my clients through a process to achieve that in their business. And before you know it my client is in control of their business and getting extraordinary results.
So take control in your business. Set your rules. Clearly define expectations, and outline consequences for poor performance. That way everyone knows who’s the boss, everyone knows the rules, and everyone can choose to play your game or not.
And it is a game. Just like playing a game at school.
In Australia we play cricket. And if you took your cricket bat and ball to school when you were a kid you were the boss. You set the rules. And everyone had to follow them because if they didn’t you’d take your bat and ball and look for some other kids to play with that followed your rules.
Do the same in business. It’ll work wonders for you…
It’s your business So take control of it.
It’s the ultimate vehicle for creating your life. So don’t let other people create it for you. Create it yourself and value what you do, value who you are and value what your business does.
If you don’t want to work weekends. Don’t. It’s up to you.
If your industry is tough and you don’t like it move into a better industry… learn business skills and create another business.

Besides the development of strategies relate to marketing, the consultants also take on the responsibility of marketing it. This can be done in many ways like promoting it through advertising in public places by the creation of television ads that are catchy, or offering incentives to buyers when they purchase products of the company.
Strategies related to E-commerce marketing are also getting popular these days, since they are a low-cost method to advertise. There are several specialized business consultants who are responsible for developing websites on the Internet for companies and implementing effective strategies for the creation of traffic, for generating revenues for the company. Ever thinking of start a work-from-home business? Most people do have a dream of working for themselves from their comfort home. However, it turns out there are major pros and cons having a work-from-home business. If you are interested in making your fortune by working from home, then you need to know how to take advantages of its pros and avoid the cons that can make you fail. Let’s explore the reality pros and cons of working from home that you should consider before you set up the business.
1. You are your own boss
Pro: By working at home, you have no boss to look at your back and rush you to complete tasks or to meet a project dateline that you have been paid for as a working individual. You do not need to complete a task assigned by your boss or to write tedious weekly or monthly reports. You are your own boss, you decide what to do next, and you make the call for all decisions.
Con: The reality for many people are that your productivity is often affected when nobody look at your back. You may work hard initially, but after a while you get lazy because no boss is chasing you to meet the dateline for a task. It’s a common human behaviour to get lazy and tend to do things slower if no dateline to be met or no boss to rush them to complete a task within schedule.
2. You write your own paycheck
Pro: If you work for your own at home, you are the one who will decide how much you can earn each month. Basically, you write your own paycheck and decide the amount of the check. There is no limit for the amount to be written on the check, only sky is the limit. Therefore, you can decide to earn 10K a month or 100K a month, any amount is possible, you make the call.
Con: It is not easy to earn a paycheck with amount equal or higher than your current salary, you need to have smart business plan. Many people who try to work from home and earn money online have failed and quit the online business and go back to workplace. So, it not an easy task to replace your day job with a home business unless you have done it right with a right business plan and you may need a good blueprint to help if you do not know how to avoid the common mistakes made by those people who had failed in the business.
3. You work in flexible schedule & less hours
Pro: This is the major benefit and the dream for many working individuals who need to work in fixed hours. You decide your working time and how long you want to work; you can choose to work for just 1 or 2 hours a day and start to work at the middle of the day or even at the mid-night and you can take time off whenever you wish.
Con: For most people, starting a work-from-home business means hard work and long working hours. You have to put in efforts in choosing a right business and do it right until it achieves a success level before you can work in relax mode. And, don’t expect to work in minimum hours because you have a lot of works to do and you need to spend time to get them done if you want a success work-from-home business.
Summary
Starting a work-from-home business involves a lot of efforts and commitments. You should consider it carefully to take advantages of its pros and avoid the cons so that you can success in the business.
