will this be able to last long without having to upgrade too much?

The 400 seems better if you can’t upgrade the 200 to 400 specs.

THe Intel Q6000 is a powerhouse and can be oc’ed to 3Ghz. The 8800GT 512MB is great too. THe 8600GT is no comparison.

Great deal since it comes with an LCD. Don’t get firewire cause you’ll never use it and you can buy a PCI card for $20 if you ever need it. Firewire should be included onboard though. It should have eSATA too.

People would recommend building yourself because you can get a quality MoBo (w/ wifi) and PSU and possibly discrete X-FI audio with the above specs but 1066Mhz or 1333Mhz RAM for about $800-850, less monitor.

I’d get Vista by the way as Starcraft II requires it. I don’t like Vista myself but what are we to do….

dell is running specials on the vostro 200, you could upgrade it to the listed specs for 2-300 cheaper than the price of $1239 you gave.

*$699 with slightly lower specs i.e 8600 gt…* one pricing point is things like ram… 4gb (add $150) lol, you can order your own 4gb of ram ddr2-800 for $100.**

You will have to have Vista Home Premium if you want to play the new games.
Directx 10 won’t run on Xp.
Also, contact the guy at http://cebucustomcomputers.tripod.com to help you configure a better unit for less, he is a wiz at that!
Don’t let some of his higher priced units scare you, they are just for those who want the best only!
